ETX-5 - Ethernet Service Aggregation Platform
The ETX-5 Carrier Ethernet aggregation platform, together with the ETX-2 Carrier Ethernet demarcation device, are the main components of RAD’s Service Assured Access solution, providing SLA-based services, Ethernet business services, legacy TDM service emulation, and mobile backhaul. It is ideal for carrier-to-carrier connectivity applications complying with MEF 26, as well as for high capacity grooming of Ethernet OAM and performance monitoring sessions. This 3U modular system features a high port density for space-restricted facilities.
ETX-5 features non-blocking architecture, allowing wire-speed forwarding of all packet sizes. It is designed for high availability and “Always-On” service. Operating over various topologies (linear, daisy chain, and self-healing G.8032v2 rings), ETX-5 builds a complete color-aware access network.

Ideal first-level POP aggregator, E-NNI demarcation device and pseudowire gateway
The ETX-5 delivers aggregated Ethernet and TDM pseudowire traffic from the access network to the PE (provider edge) over 10-GbE links. Part of RAD’s Service Assured solutions for service providers and critical infrastructure, the ETX-5 is ideal for the first-level aggregation at the POP, E-NNI inter-carrier demarcation and as a pseudowire gateway for seamless migration to packet networks.
For enhanced user experience, the ETX-5 is supported by the new RADview management and orchestration system, featuring an intuitive UI/UX to simplify configuration and enable zero-touch service provisioning end-to-end. The ETX-5 is Carrier Ethernet 2.0-certified and includes an extensive toolset to deliver and manage SLA-based services.
